About Us

We are an apolitical organisation of social entrepreneurs, founded on integrity and ethical business practices, who seek to grow economic systems especially in rural areas.

SASEF serves to lobby and partner with large corporates, social development organisations, global foundations, and governments to support Social Entrepreneurs in providing innovative solutions and creating smart villages.

Our membership is comprised of NPCs, NPOs, Cooperatives and entrepreneurs with a social development agenda.

We organise Social Entrepreneurs to form economic clusters in their areas and assist them to create economic vision boards. The cluster then develops, implements, and oversee a growth strategy to fill the entrepreneurial gaps in that village economic system.

We facilitate skills development, community education, enterprise development, compliance, and funding through the support we receive. Each social enterprise will have an impact on the vision board and progress will be monitored to ensure various enterprises are created to complete the vision of a smart village.

The Forum runs the Know-Your-Land Campaign where communities document cognitive data about their area including ancestral history, natural resources, wild vegetation, animal species and customs.

This effort attracts young adults back to villages and reduces influx of people into cities and informal settlements.

Code of Conduct

All members commit to our core values. Using our logo binds you to our ethics, principles, and code of conduct.

Any member found to be in breach of our core values and principles will have their membership terminated immediately and may be charged with bringing the Forum into disrepute.

Depending on the seriousness of the offence, members may be fined monetarily, membership may be terminated immediately, and members may be charged criminally.

Smart Village

Smart Villages are communities in rural areas that use innovative solutions to improve their resilience, building on local strengths and opportunities and using technology to boost development, communication, data and information, interaction with outside world, transacting, health, education, etc.
